Film Poster
This is the film poster that I made. I decided to use this photo as the only image, as it shows Connor is the main character in the film, and also that the story centres around him. I also think the shadowing is effective as one side of him is darker, showing he has a hidden side to his personality and that he is hiding something. As the main actors name is at the top, it stands out, and the title also stands out too as it is bigger, and will attract the audiences eye. I underlined the word "line", and put it in red as red is asscoiated with danger, and "The Last Line" is a pun - (line - drugs, and the final straw in his life, (which pressure him to take drugs). I also added in the slogan/ strapline, as it creates drama and hopefully will appeal to the audience, and they will want to find out more.

Film Poster
This is a version of my own film poster I made. To create the image for the poster I first of all uploaded the image, auto leveled it, then cropped to get the size of A4,then i simply gray scaled the image, when I had gray scaled the image I then changed the curve levels to make the image darker and create more shadowing. From the shadowing you can see that one side of Brett is lighter and darker at one side. This shows representation of maybe there being two split personalities as one is a career cocky professional side, where as the other is where he is crumbling inside from the press. The black and white effect is to show the boldness and impact of how powerful and dramatic the film is. Also we all had to get rid of the Hollister logo Brett had on his shirt. This is for copyright reasons.

Filming Again
This is another recording from Rachael's phone of the same scene, same location but from a different angle to get a different shot. From this angle you can also see what we are recording as you can see the screen on the camera.

Filming
Here is a recording from Rachael's phone of us filming. This is the scene where Connor is takes the drugs at the location of Mel's house (Connor's inside of house). As he paces from the dinning room to the kitchen to set up the cocaine. This shows his weakness breakdown point.

Radio Trailers
We all struggled to find radio trailers so we have resulted in using normal trailers but restricted the visual part and just listening to the trailer. Here are the selcetion of trailers in chose.
Twilight Saga: Eclipse
I really enjoy this trailer as it really gets me excited and energetic for the film. I am a big Twilgiht fan so when I hear or see the trailer it makes me want to see it now at that moment. This is the reaction that is wanted by the audience, the adrenaline the trailer creates. When you hear the voices of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, you know instantly what the film is from hearing their voices on a radio trailer. The music in the trailer is very dramatic and creates tention of what is about to happen in the film, there is constantly a big beat when the actots are not talking in the trailer and then the music has a collision to sound that something big is coming.
Black Swan
This trailer creates such atmosphere, the pace of the trailer is very fast moving and its as if your moving with it. It shows how the main character changes. It relates to our film becuase the "star" is really feeling the pressure from others, to please them and stay at the top. The music is fast paced throughtout with you hearing more strain of fear and lost in the main characters voice. Then the music stop and softens as that'll be the pause that she has changed, that the pressure was too much.
I believe there are good ideas to take from these trailers such as with the music that the tempo to change with when the actor changes his attitude from the begiining as portraying as loving the attention but inside its straining on him. I believe it should start with the sound of shouuts of crowds, maybe as if its on a red carpet due to his career and then everybody is shouting his name.

Final additions
Towards the end of making our film, we decided to add in some photos of Connor where the news broadcaster was talking, to make the audience feel sympathy for him and show moments of his life, (and throughout the film).
We used three photos for this section and we thought these were very effective as one looks like it has been taken by paparazzi (which was taken whilst filming and one was during the magazine interview (also taken during filming). The third picture was taken during the photo shoot, which is a close up of Connor which looks like he is smirking - just to remind the audience of his character personality.

Distribution
I am looking for a possible distributor who would distribute our short film. I searched in the Google search engine and found this link making short films distributors , from this i saw a selecetion of distributors to choose from. So in the end i choose Shorts Interntional, as they are headquarted in London, UK which makes it easier to help the UK short film come along.
So I believe the distribution group Shorts International would be a good choice.
Shorts Interantional are a distribution group who act as and distributor, producer and broadcaster so you get other qualities as well with these. They are successful as they are the world's leading short film distribution company. I think is a good reputation and helps other countries to experience our short films. We would be able to use this companu as there is really no restriction as to what they'll distribute or not, such as they class that they do not eliminate any genre. This company has been involved with many films of over 3000, which I believe is a good reputation line that knowing that they have been successful with so many films.
So I believe the distribution group Shorts International would be a good choice.
Here is a link to their website. Shorts International
Here is another link to see what other short films they have distributed that are successful that are for this year's Oscar nomination (2011). Oscar Shorts
Our Prop List
The older prop list is of some images I just simply took off the internet. So this post is showing the people we used in our film.
The car we used was a Ford ztec sport. This car belongs to Brett so it was accesibleto use for our media film. Apart from the situation we had about the car crash but we have the car and this is the image of the one we used. The car is Connor's Transpertaion and is stylish to suit his lifestyle. Although since this is the only car we have available we had to use it for Lucy as wel in a scene of when she's leaving the house.
This is the cigarrettes and a cigarette box. The cigarettes are fake as none of our group members smoke so we used fke to try created a simillar effect. The fake cigarettes were purchased from a joke shop and the box simply from a smoker. We decided for the couple to be smoking as it shows the burden that fame comes with from the press and that it isn't all just about the luxury lifestyle. This portrays the stressful side of it that even their smiles cannot hide
This is a Blackberry Curve 8520 mobile phone. This is what mobile phone Connor, this is his communication to other people. Such as in the earlier part of the film it is used when there is a phone call conersation between Connor and his Agent. This item also shows off the luxury in which Connor is living where money isn't an issue.
This is the fake cocaine we used for the drugs Connor was using. In the clea bag is simply sugar as it looks simillar and creates the effect. The clear pouch is simply what spare buttons are keptin when new clothing is bought. I think this looks believeable, for a media film purpose. This is part of what the media film is about. This shows the meltdown that Connor results to due to pressure from the paparazzi.

Inerview Scene
OldLocation - Rachael Whittaker
As from an older post that a member has put up explaining about the situation of trying to record at Went Worth Castle I took some image on my mobile phone to show the location. I know that we didn't fulfill what we wanted to at this location as to difficulties with arrangement but I do still have the images I feel are useful to put on blogger as it shows the idea we had and how we thought the location was appreciate. There are a selection of images I took.
Sub-genre of our film
We think our film falls into the sub-genre category of addiction drama. This shows how characters deal with the addiction to drugs and/or alchocol, and our film is similar to his. We had to make sure that our film did not promote drugs in any way as this is a rule stated by the BBFC.
However, our film does have aspects of other sub-genres, incorporated into it also such as tragedy. This is because the main character Connor, is dealing with a bad situation within his life, and in a tragedy there's nearly always conflict, which also applies to our film.
In relation to our first post, "Sub-genres of a drama film", we found another website that had alternative sub-genres as well. . .

Radio Trailers
For our film we have been asked to create a radio trailer. So through a lot of research we discovered that I couldn't really find any. So instead I decided that I would look at movie trailers that have a lot of dialogue and sound. This is because most radio trailers are very similar to the movie trailer anyway and use sound bites from the film.

The Kings Speech
This is a very useful trailer as it efficiently combines music and dialogue while also portraying the unique selling point of the film. The way in which key lines of the film also makes this trailer very useful as it helps me understand what are the most important things to include in our radio trailer. The music in this trailer is very meaningful and is edited so that faster tempo's are used on more aggressive parts of the trailer for example the change in tempo at 0:13 seconds.
The main features I think that our radio trailer could draw from The Kings Speech trailer are the use of music as part of rhythmic editing, as I think that this is very important because it adds to dramatization .

The Fighter
This is another very helpful trailer as it uses lots of dialogue that summarizes the general gist of the film. Without this I think that it would be very hard to understand what the film is about which is something we do not want to happen with our film. The use of music also plays a key part in this trailer as again it adds to the general effect of the film on its audiences. The music used in the first 20 seconds sets up the first part of the trailer and creates a strong image for listeners.
The features from this trailer that I think we could incorporate into our radio trailer is the strength of the dialogue. By using key lines from the film it really creates strong imagery in your mind about what will happen in the film and makes the audience want to watch the film.

Voiceover Script
We decided to add a voiceover of the main character into our film, in order for the audience to understand the story more and get more of a connection with Connor. This was also a good way to cover up the sound in some scenes, as when we filmed the press scenes, the wind was quite bad and when we edited these, the sound wasn't very good quality.

Updated script
This is our up-to-date final script. We wrote one before making our film, however we changed aspects of our film, which meant the script had to be changed also.
