The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 - By Rachael Whittaker

The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 is an act that it a Statutory which is an Act of Parliment so it applies to the UK only, even if you are not living in the UK but were someone to travel here and still go against The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 it is still an offence. This act outlines what drugs are not tollerated in the state. A way to help catergise the drugs is to class. So i will show the the 3 groups and examples of what drugs are placed in that catergory.

Class A Drugs - Heroin, Cocaine, Crack, Ecstasy, Methamphetamine, LSD and Psiloybin mushrooms.

Class B Drugs - Amphetamine, Cannabis, Codeine and Methylphenidate.

Class C Drugs - GHB, Ketamine, Diazepam, Flunitrazepam, Benzidiazpines and Anabolic Steroids.

So as this is an Act of which is stating it is an offence to be involved with these drugs, and so there has to be a punsihment system for when someone does go against the state. So now i will show a table of the penalities someone will get.

I have got all this information from the following link:

Drug Research - By Rachael Whittaker

I have done some research into drug statistics in the UK as it is still a main issue and it can back up our film. It shows how class A drug are not just a 'buzz' as people claim but are actually more dangerous than people actually think. Medical attention is showing here how people missues drugs and suffer the consequences which if taken too much and too regulary it will cause long term affects damage not just a one off seizure.

Film Time Table - By Rachael Whittaker

Right due to different problems we have not so far filmed a single thing, we've had problems from arranging to film at the Wentworth Castle location and the car we were to use in the film got crushed as it was in a crash so that was unfortunate as within our film it kinda revolves around the car with travel and in shots. So due to all this happening i decided to try take charge of the matter and to create a table of a short of calender for the filming situation.

This indicates when people are unavailable to film, so the spaces that are clear show when we are available to film in the time. Also in the last couple of weeks i have put the word edit which is the days we have our lessons, so i have left editing time to be done in order to complete a rough draft dealine. We also have time to edit out of lesson time but this is just to make sure and be safe about the limited time we have left.

Location Ideas

In our film we want to show Connor as a wealthy, aspiring actor. So for this we decided to look into filming at large stately home, which would convey Connor's wealth. We looked into filming at Wentworth Woodhouse which is a large stately home with the biggest frontage in Europe. We wrote to the Woodhouse and received a phone call that said because the BBC were filming they had exclusivity rights which meant that we would not be allowed to film. The manager did say that if this would have been at any other time we would have been allowed which is a real shame. We are now looking into filming into filming at Wentworth Castle, which is another large home now owned partly by Northern College.

This is Wentworth Woodhouse where we originally aimed to film. As you can see this is a very grand house that would have really fantastic to film at, but obviously the BBC has the rights which we obviously had to respect.

This is Northern College where we will now be filming at. As you can see it is slightly smaller than Wentworth Woodhouse, but we feel that this will suit the purpose we need it for. Northern College will be a great filming location for Connor's house, as it conveys his wealth and potentially the celebrity lifestyle before the pressures become too much.

25 Word Pitch

A film conveying how the pressures of fame, on a young vulnerable actor can simply either make or break him and highly influence his life.
