The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 - By Rachael Whittaker

The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 is an act that it a Statutory which is an Act of Parliment so it applies to the UK only, even if you are not living in the UK but were someone to travel here and still go against The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 it is still an offence. This act outlines what drugs are not tollerated in the state. A way to help catergise the drugs is to class. So i will show the the 3 groups and examples of what drugs are placed in that catergory.

Class A Drugs - Heroin, Cocaine, Crack, Ecstasy, Methamphetamine, LSD and Psiloybin mushrooms.

Class B Drugs - Amphetamine, Cannabis, Codeine and Methylphenidate.

Class C Drugs - GHB, Ketamine, Diazepam, Flunitrazepam, Benzidiazpines and Anabolic Steroids.

So as this is an Act of which is stating it is an offence to be involved with these drugs, and so there has to be a punsihment system for when someone does go against the state. So now i will show a table of the penalities someone will get.

I have got all this information from the following link:
