Evaluation Q.3

3. What have you learned from your audience feedback? I’ve learnt that our film is more of a success than I thought it would be. People seemed to enjoy watching our film and understood it well. Well at the planning stage we created a questionnaire to gain audience feedback from what we had planned for the film before we created it. http://whathappensinvegas10.blogspot.com/2010/10/video-questionniare.html This is a link to our post that shows the audience feedback we got before we created the film, we wanted to see if our idea would be successful for a majority audience for it to achieve. So this our group planning based around the feedback from this video to see if we need to improve our idea and make sure it keeps the audience captured in the moment. We had to first of all think who is our audience and branch from there, also following the bbfc guidelines. We decided our audience would be a 15 as looking at the guidelines this is due to the drug use in the film. We accepted this and created the film for certificate 15 audience. We always want to make it clear to the audience about what is happening and that they can follow along. So in order for fill in the spaces as to not confuse the audience we used voiceovers from Connor from his point and how he sees things. At the beginning we have an interview if Connor and a journalism. We then added some articles in-between the scene to make it clearer as to how Connor is famous and why he is having the interview as you have to be high in their celebrity career if the media want an interview. So we wanted to put across his fame, also with the luxuries we showed he has possession of and this brings in the Richard Dyer’s Theory of Entertainment/ Entertainment and Utopia. For planning we wanted to make the film as pleasant as possible for the audience such as for the locations we wanted them to enjoy the different locations. Whilst editing the film together we thought of the voiceovers as this made it simpler for the audience to understand what was happening but whilst planning we didn’t know this until we saw all the visual. The drugs issue we think our audience will understand very well, maybe some ca relate by going through something similar or knowing someone who has. I believe we portrayed our film as to not advertise in any aspect of the good side drugs, as there is not any but we didn’t want to advertise the habit. This is why there is a clear message behind our film and we think that message comes across clearly to the audience. To gain feedback we uploaded a rough copy of our film on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHL5tyiSE0I . Then when the film was uploaded I private messaged some friends on facebook to give me some feedback about what they thought about the film so from how it’s processed from just an idea. Also from the feedback we will get to see what worked, what didn’t and where we can improve. I think due to the accents we have the film will be more understood by people around the area of South Yorkshire, it can still appeal to anyone over 15 as its not subjected to a particular area its just the accent that could make it more appealing to more some than others. I have print screen images of the audience feedback from Facebook.
